Art Reflecting Life

The movie Attack shows people going into war and some being cowards about it. It shows how they prepared for war, how they handled surprise attacks, and the movie showed how members of the army were treated due to the level of hierarchy they were in.
Between the movie Attack and World War II, there were some differences and similarities. The events that occurred weren’t exact but what they did and how they reacted were similar in certain ways.  The hierarchy of the military was a major part of the differences and similarities between World War II and the movie Attack.

The movie Attack shows some differences like how some men were cowards and were afraid to send men to help those already in war. It also shows men who were strong and always ready for whatever came his way.  In reality, people involved in World War II, always had to be ready. If generals and sergeants or members of the army/military were scared under fire, they would lose the war or even worse be killed. So, this is to show how the movie reflected on the personal lives in a different way.

In the movie attack, there is an unexpected attack that made generals, sergeants, commanders, and members of the military have to react quickly and precisely.  This didn’t always work out very well. Some would act strange under that amount of pressure and start making threats to their own “staff.” Depending on the level of hierarchy they were positioned in, they would have different threats made to them.

- In World War II, there were some surprise attacks but people were always ready. They all had to react right away without any hesitations. There were always people who might have been scared but they were trained to get through it and fight. Threats were also made but when it came time to fight, threats were only made to the other army they were going against.
When there were surprise attacks in the movie Attack, they would contact their fellow men to warn them of what was coming. In war, they were usually prepared but they would still contact other members of the army to know precisely what is happening or what is going to happen. These “calls” were made by telegraphs.

        - In the movie Attack, some members of the army were only allowed to go into war. They did not have an opinion on anything that happened.  This was because of the levels of hierarchy.  So, they weren’t allowed to use the telegraphs all the time. There were set positions for people whose job was to manage the calls that were made using the telegraphs.

       -   During World War II, they needed a way to communicate. So, telegraphs were used for their way of communication. Many people were allowed to use them but there were people who were assigned to the telegraphs as well. Many calls and alerts were given using the telegraphs. Such as who was needed in a certain area, what the schedule was, or what was happening at that moment in time.

Even with the similarities and differences between the movie and World War II, the movie gives a good basis  of what actually happened inside of the military. Such as the threats that were made through personal business with other members of the army or the way they acted when it came time for war. The setup in the movie was a little different but you could still follow along with the movie Attack to understand the hierarchy in the military and how others were treated.
